Andreas Türk is an Expert in International Energy and Climate Policy. He started to work at the University of Graz in 2004 and at JOANNEUM RESEARCH in 2006. He works in key areas of the SET plan such as integrating renewable technologies in the energy systems, reducing costs of technologies or new materials and technologies for buildings.
The research activities are at the interface between basic research and innovation activities with market actors. Specialties include smart grids, smart cities as well and design of electricity markets, energy efficiency policies related to economic evaluation and policy design as well as investigating innovation mechanisms and regulatory frameworks for deploying low carbon technologies and energy communities. In the last year, Andreas Tuerk has extensively worked on energy communities within international and national project focusing on their economic and regulatory opportunities and barriers.
Andreas is the coordinator of the H2020 Project EXCESS on Plus energy buildings demonstrating key building technologies for PEBs in different climate zones. Andreas is involved in a range of policy and research networks such as the EU BRIDGE initiatives, the IEA annex 83 on Plus Energy Districts or the Climate Strategies Research Network.
