Senior Business Developer
Dr. Edel Sheridan is a senior business developer at SINTEF Energy Research, Norway, a member of the Battery European Partnership Association (BEPA) board and technical advisor of Batteries Europe ETIP. She has been engaged in the early days of the SET Plan IWG 7 on Batteries. She works with the battery community aiding establishment and running of stakeholder networks and developing key strategic documents such as the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda in Battery technology.
Earlier as a research scientist she worked on materials development for Li ion batteries, Zinc-air batteries and supercapacitors in addition to working on membranes and sensors. Edel holds a PhD in electrochemistry from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. In her free time, Edel is a leader at a youth organisation, supporting young people in building their skills in self-sufficiency and in their apperication of nature.
Due to her role, she is keenly aware of the importance of developing active cooperation across boarders and sectors from raw materials to digitilisation to the energy and transport sectors while creating sustainable solutions. “The challenges of diversity of methods and language in each sector can be utilised as one of Europe’s stongest competative advantages to develop and impliment sustainable solutions but only if this is leaveraged correctly.”
