Gerdi Breembroek has worked at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and its predecessors for over 20 years as an energy specialist. She is the Chair of the Geothermal implementation working group within the EU Strategic Energy Technology Plan. She is also the leading expert on the Heating and Cooling Transition Initiative in the Clean Energy Transition Partnership. She is furthermore involved in the national programmes for geothermal energy and CCS.

Gerdi Breembroek studied Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. She got her PhD in 1997 from that same University.
