Nikos Nikolakakos
CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association
Environment & Resources Manager
I hold a background in chemical engineering and have dedicated the last seven years to serving as the Environment & Resources Manager at CEMBUREAU. In this role, I oversee the regulatory framework concerning waste utilization, air emissions, and biodiversity conservation within the European cement sector.
Before joining CEMBUREAU, I spent 14 years at the Halyps Cement plant in Athens, which was initially part of the Italcementi group and is now under the HeidelbergMaterials group. During my time there, I worked in various departments, including Environmental Management, Quality Assurance, and Process Control, which gave me a deep understanding of how cement is made.
