Sandro Starita joined European Aluminium, the voice of the European aluminium industry, in 2008 and has since gathered extensive experience in environment, health and safety, energy and climate. He currently drives the sustainability program of the organization, with special focus on decarbonization. In this context he was in charge of the development of the Decarbonisation Pathways for the European aluminium industry towards 2050. His past professional experience covered the steel industry, industrial research, safety in the workplace and remediation of polluted sites. Sandro holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and an Executive MBA degree at the Business School of the Politecnico di Milano.
